I’m not burying my head in the sand about how good this hair day is. I'm watching you! Getting up close and personal with this curious Ostrich. The detail in those lashes is incredible! When you’re just trying to look majestic but the flies won’t respect your personal space.

Ostrich, the world's largest bird are flightless but they can run up to about 70 km/h (43 mph), using their powerful legs. Its eye is bigger than its brain (around 5 cm across) and is among the largest of any land animal, giving them excellent vision to spot predators on the open plains.

Ostriches live in semi-arid habitats (like savannas), and their thick, long lashes act as "windshield wipers" to keep out blowing dust and sand. They have no teeth. Instead, they swallow small stones and pebbles (gastroliths) that sit in their gizzard and grind up their food for them.

They do not bury their heads in the sand. When they are afraid, they flop to the ground and lay their long necks flat against the dirt to look like a mound of earth (camouflage). From a distance, it just looks like their head has disappeared.
