Golden hour on the Nile where the desert meets the river. Watching over history on the hill in distance the Mausoleum of Aga Khan, a pink-limestone tomb on the west bank of the Nile at Aswan, built in the late 1950s for Aga Khan III and now also the resting place of Aga Khan IV and his wife. Its hilltop position gives sweeping views over the river, palm groves and surrounding desert. The dark rocks in the water are granite, characteristic of the "First Cataract" of the Nile.
