About us
Welcome to Qomra Photography — I’m the eye behind the lens, and the storyteller behind each frame. My name is Muhammad Bedair, and Qomra Photography is my creative home, built on a deep respect for the roots of photography and the cultures that shaped it.
Qomra (قُمْرَة ), rooted in Arabic heritage, means “dark chamber” — a poetic nod to the medieval origins of photography. In the 11th century, the pioneering Arab scholar Ibn al-Haytham (Alhazen) not only coined the term Al-Bayt al-Muthlim but also conducted the very first rigorous, experimental studies of the camera obscura in his seminal Book of Optics. With an eye for both light and culture, Qomra Photography brings that elegant tradition into today’s visual storytelling. We craft images that honor the timeless legacy of Arab innovation—melding the historic depth of the “dark room” with a modern creative vision.

That origin isn’t just symbolic — it’s foundational to how I approach my craft: with intentionality, curiosity, and reverence for light. At Qomra Photography, I honor that origin by blending tradition with creativity, capturing images that speak across time, culture, and light. Every image I capture is more than a scene — it’s a dialogue between tradition and now. Qomra Photography isn’t just a brand; it’s a lens through which I explore the world, one frame at a time. I aim to bridge the past and the present — creating imagery that feels, at once, ancient and immediate. Each frame is a study in contrast, emotion, and the unseen. Every photograph we take is a reflection of that heritage — rooted in the past, yet made for the present.
